According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, to grow is to “progress to maturity”.
One of my pet peeves is when myself or someone else stunts their own growth. By way of making excuses, ignoring a problem or being unaware of what next right steps to take, we can find ourselves stuck in a pattern, way of thinking, etc. and therefore not growing.

Growth always comes at a cost. Seeds die. Teenagers get growing pains. A sacrifice is made; friendships are no longer. While I’m not sure I would always advocate for the concept that the end justifies the means, I do tend to believe (more often than not) the cost of growth is worth the outcome.
I’m sure you could argue this is not always the case (and I would very much love to hear your thoughts on this). On Wednesday I’m going to talk about how timing is a factor to consider in the process of growth. I hope that as we grow we take what we are learning and have the grace to make the difficult or uncomfortable decisions with wisdom and within safe/healthy environments.
